Sensor Bonding
We optically bond glass touch sensors using the LOCA (liquid optical clear adhesive) process. This enables us to achieve a permanently reliable connection between the cover glass and the sensor and ensures perfect readability of the display.
Optical bonding for the best view of
the display
An elegant glass control unit for a global market leader. The touch sensor is bonded onto the printed cover glass using the LOCA process. With our expertise in optical bonding, we offer our customers the right technologies to connect touch sensors, cover glass and displays.
LOCA process
Liquid adhesive is applied to the cover glass, then the touch sensor or display is attached. The adhesive spreads evenly and bubble-free between the components. The adhesive is then cured using UV light without generating a lot of heat. As there are no disturbing reflections at the individual boundary layers of the components, the display is easy to read. We offer optical bonding for both film sensors and glass sensors.
Air-Gap Bonding
Air-gap bonding offers a simple variant. This process is particularly suitable for indoor applications. The display is connected to cover glass or touch sensor using a double-sided adhesive tape, which is applied all around the frame of the TFT display. In this process, the layers of air between the individual components are retained, resulting in annoying reflections at the interfaces.
Advantages of optical bonding
The advantages of optical bonding include optimal readability of the display even in adverse lighting conditions, high resistance under extreme conditions and strong temperature fluctuations, no condensation can occur between the panes.
